Silver Care for your
silver and silverplate.

  DO NOT USE:
  • SILVER DIP of any kind to remove tarnish (except for your fork tines.)
  • Aluminum foil "recipes" to remove tarnish.These types of products remove the dark oxidation in the silver pattern that makes the silver pattern attractive.

Polishing Recommendations
  • Use quality silver polish (such as Hagerty's Silver Polish) shown below.
  • Soft cloth. Use one cloth to apply polish and rub. Use cleaner drying soft cloth to rub off polish and rub to a nice shine.
  • Wash with hot soapy water using dishwashing detergent (not dishwasher detergent) if you intent use for food.

Silver storage

  • Store silver in Pacific Silver cloth bags. ( Click Here to purchase Pacific Silver Cloth by the Yard.) Making your own bags is the most economical and effective storage method lastly at least 20 years.
  • Another option are Ziploc® polyethylene bag bags with a Hagerty Silver Protection Strips. in the bag.
  • NEVER store silver or silver plate in Saran Wrap, other plastic bags, or use rubber bands.These materials will leave permanent marks.
  • Store flatware in a Hagerty zippered silvercloth drawer liner. This fits conveninetly in a drawer but keeps your flatware accessible.
