Pierced Nu-gold crown on the top of the blender container: Misstress of the Home. Misstress is spelled incorrectly on purpose. I wanted the "MISS" to refer to the Miss America type beauty competitions.

Display of Womanizer, Kitchen Queen with tablecloth

The image above is Womanizer, Kitchen Queen during the first exhibition of “The Family of Appliances You Can Believe In” 1982 in Palo Alto, California.

The vintage red satin tablecloth embroidered in Harvest Gold thread that says "Kitchen Queen" is available for exhibition. This is an incredible display, but Womanizer, Kitchen Queen can also be shown on a more traditional pedestal with Plexiglas vitrine.

This sculpture is available for purchase or exhibition.

Below is a video from 1982.
My apologies now for the video quality. It was done in 1982 when standards for video were not the same as today. It was a difficult production to make this video in 1982, it being quite rare to find someone who could film and edit videos.

Originally videotaped in 1982, this video captures artist Harriete Estel Berman describing the function and meaning behind her appliance sculptures. These domestic objects are not found objects. Fabricated from sheet and wire these appliances offer deep social commentary about the roles of women in society, and the values invested in manufactured appliances.
